Free Unzip Program To Create and Extract or Encrypt Files of All Formats

ZIP, RAR, GZip, TAR files are very common in day-to-day communication through email or even through other mediums like flash drive. We see a lot of them on our computer’s hard disk or even on friend’s. Sometimes when you try to download certain files, you find downloaded file in archive format. Because of different formats of archive available on web, you think of installing different software to extract that format. For example WinZip for zip files, WinRAR for RAR files and you will try some other software for TAR files and so on. There are so many formats of archived files like GZip, PEA, 7Z, ARC etc. Even there are many online unzip siteswith certain limitations, I would suggest you to install only one software and that is PeaZip which can create, extract and encrypt documents of almost all formats of archive.

PeaZip is free unzip program to extract archived documents like ZIP, TAR, GZip, RAR, 7Z and even can create such archive document for you. You can download and install this software on your 32 bit or 64 bit Windows, Linux system or even can carry a portable version of PeaZip  with you.

Unzip programs are capable of splitting huge files in small chunks. PeaZip can also do that on your system and even can encrypt or password protect the zipped document for security purpose. Once you will install PeaZip on your system, it will ask you to attach all formats like ZIP, TAR, 7Z, RAR to the program and once you will download or get an archived document, right-click on that to get the extract option from PeaZip. Either you can select to “extract here” or to “extract in a new folder”.

To create an archive from a folder, right-click on the folder and select “PeaZip ==> Add to archive”. It will ask you to select the format in which you want the archive. Select that from the dropdown and if you want to secure the final document, then go to “Advance” tab and select encryption option.

I am using PeaZip since last one month and find it really simple and easy tool. Now I don’t need multiple unzip programs for single purpose i.e. to unzip or unrar or ungzip a document.
